Can someone please confirm from photo that the top catch is for hard top and bottom catch is for the soft-top? I used the bottom one in my hardtop as cone at the end help it slide in a bit easier. But I'll have to swap it out when I get my soft-top sorted.
Are the zig-zap chrome pieces just pressed in or is there a clip behind holding them in place?
I bought a hard top hoist for a Merc from Amazon for about $100 thinking it will work on the Stag's hard top. Well!, the one I bought doesn't and I had to modify it so it does. Here's a link to one similar to one I bought.
Here's a photo after I modified it. The feet that grab onto the rain gutter are too short. I cut the roof bar in half and added a piece of metal in the middle and angled the bars. I made it a bit wider so the clamps clear the horizontal part of the top. I found the best pace to clamp the topf is just in front of the side windows. This puts a little lean towards the front so I can clamp the front in first. It's still a two man job.
