    Custom Air Vents

Now that I have fitted my AC condenser to the front of the radiator, I decided to give my rectangular shaped transmission oil cooler a new location.

I have created two front air vents. The LH one will supply air to the air intake rather than hot engine bay air and the RH vent will supply air to my ZF transmission cooler.

The transmission cooler is held in place by some made up brackets, also some side ducting is fitted to ensure all air is forced through the cooler rather than around it.

I will be creating side air vents in the rear section of the front guards which will allow the air from the two front vents to exit. The other advantage is extra hot air from the engine bay can also exit from these side vents to keep under the bonnet temperatures lower.

I will also create an air box around the intake air cleaner to also reduce hot air feeding into the 3.9L EFI Rover engine induction system.

    More to follow.

you may not get a lot of forced air flow due to the positioning, hope I'm wrong, but if its a problem creat a lip type spoiler (same idea as the TR6 one but wider) as this should help push air through the oil cooler

You must of seen my list of things to do Phil as I have a TR6 spoiler and will be fitting that to assist air flow to the two new front vents and also the central area for the radiator!

I put one on my Tr5, greatly improved cooling (200+ bhp)and great on high speed stability

Totally transformed my Stag powered TR250, it was frightening above 80mph before I fiited the TR6 spoiler. I only fitted it to improve the cooling.

New side air vents now fitted to each side. These will help expel hot air from the engine bay and the transmission cooler.

I have enlarged the two front openings in the engine bay to aid cooling and also allows more space for my hand to access the bumper bolts.

Now that I have an opening for the side air vents I was also able to fit some Land Rover side indicator lights. These have replaced the large American style ones in the front which I was not really a fan of.

Next job is to fit the TR6 chin spoiler. side air vents (1024x768).jpgside lights (1024x768).jpg
