Hi Woody3466, dont know if i can add much, but i did my stag recently, first i removed the radiator, 2 bolts on top and 2under neath on the fan shroud. undo the jubilee clip at the rad end of the top hose and the same clip on the bottom hose. Top hose is easy but the bottom one can be a bit of a pig. Then flush the rad through from the top, then reverse flush form the bottom, keep doing it until the water runs clear and your happy. Then undo the drain bolts on either side of the engine block, one on each side working from underneath the car,its abit awkward but very doable.my ones were a brass colour. Then like others have said you may have to poke wire into the holes to put a hole in the built up crud. Then stick your garden hose into the top radiator hose and flush through until the water is clear. Next i wiggled off the upper and lower hoses that feed the heater matrix but take it easy dont use too much brute force on these . Then use your garden hose again alternating between top and bottom until this runs clear. Once your done put everything back and tighten up. Then you need to refill with antifreeze, fill up the overflow bottle halfway, run the engine until hot then you will need to check and top up once its cooled enough. Check it several times to make sure. Good luck, Tommy.

Cooling system flush advice for new owner

Hello all,
before I flushed the cooling system I added a bottle of descaler, which is normally used to descale expensive coffee machines. I did not want to use any normal acid, as I thought this is too aggressive. The descaler I used contains some inhibitors protecting the seals. I drove with this for some hours and only then drained and flushed the system.
Good luck, Dieter - from Germany.

I have pointed out to 'Arry the Stag (Tony) that he did not take care to fit the thermostat correctly - according to other expert posts on here, the jiggle pin should be at the top to allow air to escape through it. Tony replied that he would make that correction in a future video.'72 Manual O/d Saffron Yellow
