    Waxoyl and similar

As I hopefully won't need to do any more chassis welding for a couple of years I thought I'd fill the box sections with waxoyl/dinitrol/etc.

Many years ago when I first bought a waxoyl kit, the box section extension 'nozzle' was a nail stuffed in the end of a tube and the gloop came out very unevenly. Looking in HalfordsI see it's still the same:X. Can anyone recommend a good kit with a decent spray pattern that'll cover all sides inside a box?

    Thanks, John.

If you have a compressor, you can get a proper kit like a spray gun with all extensions, spray heads and tubes and I found it to be one of my best investments ever.

The gun screws onto the standard cans and, without the tubes, is also used to spray on underseal.

Have a search on eBay or Google (underseal spray gun or similar). They are not expensive.

That's what I did, £20 for a scutz's gun complete with cavity nozzle, you can then buy the litre cans of underseal which contain a mixture of underseal and waxoyl for less than £10 each. I did the whole car with 2 cans.

Bilt Hamber's Dynax S50 aerosol comes wih a 18" pipe and a brass sparay insert that makes the stuff go in four different directions.

I've just used it for the first time - it looks very promisingand, I think, far better than waxoyl.

I have bought one of those, just be careful that you don't pull it out of the cavity whilst pushing the button. It sprays a long way and tastes awful!!!

Bilt Hamber products are highly rated in tests.

Call me a smug ******* but (heavens knows why) I thought about that in advance and put a bit of tape around the tube about 2 inches before the end.

A sort of '2 inch warning'

That's the one, it's superior stuff, and what's more, you can clean the tube out for re-use, I've still got 4 or 5 Waxoyl applicators that have blocked up despite my best efforts. Go for it. Martin.

Just looked at their website, looks promising, and they're only just down the road as well, Thanks,

When I first e-mailed them I got a reply from a Peter Hamber so I guess he is THE man !

Spoken to them a few times and they seem really helpful and believe in their products. Having said that, I guess only time will tell how good they really are!

I used one of these as I have a compressor.

Works well, you can have the whole garage covered in the stuff in no time .

Don't bother with waxoil though as it doesn't atomise very well at all.

Could you give me a contact for this stuff. No one local here seems to sell it. Looks like I'll have to get some shipped up from the South
