NOS rear deck panel

Hi All, I have a NOS rear deck panel for the Stag, however on lining this up against a 1977 Stag the ends are missing a 90 degree folded flange that welds to the rear wing. Can anyone tell me if this is a really early panel that would have originally been lead loaded on the joint? 1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg4.jpg

The one i fitted didnt have the step in it either,but did have the right angle return to weld to the wing

could it be that one is a "Repair" panel and the other is an original factory panel?

I didn't think NOS/original panels would come in red oxide but I may be wrong. Have a look at Robsport's webshop to compare yours to the SOCTFL funded part which might help you

Thanks for all the replies, I did look at the panel that SOCTFL produce and this doesn't have a step and appears to a flange at each end, are these a good fit?

I purchased one of these recently, stated as being SOCTFL, from the R Brothers as I had a few gift vouchers to use (and used their Price Match policy).

I haven't got around to fitting it just yet (long story) but offering it up I have noticed that the raised lips of the rain gulley to which the boot and tonneau seals wood push down onto are both a little shorter than the original. Hoping this isn't going to be a headache for what is quite an expensive panel.

Wondering if anyone else had this finding ?
