Fuel system

looking for more help with the fuel system
replaced the pump with an electronic model but car still won’t start, what I’ve checked so far
pump primes
fuel is getting through to the carbs as I’ve taken off the pipe and it has a good flow, have a full spark so the ignition system seems ok
tge car will start every now and again but cut out within a few seconds.
sprayed surestart in the inlets and it started again for a few seconds.
unsure if I’m missing something really simple or what to check next
any help is appreciated

Has the timing been disturbed?

Are you sure the choke is working correctly?

In your first post you mentioned that you'd just got your first Stag and are looking forward to going out on the road.

Was the Stag running when you got it, or delivered on a trailer?

If it was running and then parked up, did you do anything to it?

When you say "it runs for a couple of seconds" do you mean the duration whilst the ignition key is still in the 'starter' position and then dies when you release the key?

Just it just "die" or does it struggle on for a few seconds getting rougher and rougher until it just gives up?

After these starting attempts, are the spark plugs dripping wet with unburnt fuel?

How did you meaure the "good spark"?

You're fortunate with a Stag that diagnosis isn't rocket science as there ar no magic black boxes..... although.... do you have a standard points set up or electronic ignition?
