    TR6 Spoiler on Stag

    Folks,

I want to fit a front spoiler to my car to aid airflow through the radiator to improve cooling. A TR6 spoiler has been recommended; I understand that there are two options – the standard plastic one (GLZ606) at about £100.00 plus P&P or a simpler, lighter glass fibre one (GLZ606FG) at about £65.00 plus P&P.

Has anyone experience of using either of these spoilers on a Stag? Firstly, did it work, improving the airflow through the radiator? Secondly, did it affect handling/stability? Thirdly, was it difficult to fit? Any other advice would be welcome.

    Hi Peter,

Russ (Kryten) has a TR6 spoiler but not sure which one, he's bound to be along later...

In the meantime here are some earlier discussions on the subject with pictures:

I have fitted a couple of the fibreglass ones now and I think they are a good idea for improving handling and cooling (no tests carried out though).

On the negative side, any front spoiler makes it more difficult to jack the car up!

        Hi Peter

I used the glass fibre one from Paddocks as it allows you to cut and reshape to fit the Stag.

I originally fitted it because of overheating over 65mph - it completely cured the problem at a stroke, and as a side benefit it now runs straight and true "hands off" well into three figures......

Happy to send you pics, and what I did to fit it to the valance - just send me a pm at some point.

        Russ

          Peter,

try this link, I believe they may be a supplier to our suppliers. They look good.
