    Coolant

    Evening everybody,

Is anyone else using OAT coolant with any problems, I know this is a touchy subject but my car is running on OAT fine, it was already filled with it when I bought it last Spring. I'm fully aware of all the arguments that surround this issue but I figure seeing as my engine was rebuilt in 2003 all the gaskets, seals etc are now compatible with this stuff. I have toyed with the idea of flushing the system this year and refilling with the old fashion stuff but before I decide I would like to know other owners views, comments and if anyone has had any problems if they are using it.

    Ian.

Hi Ian, if this is teh pink stuff, then I have been using it for a while now and no probs. Its supposed to be OK for at least 10 years, but you cant mix it with the old green/blue stuff.

    No problems

Ian, I know someone else that has used it fro many years and that's what persuaded me as if you ever had to top up or had a leak, then the pink stuff can be bought anywhere, even Halfrauds

          Thanks for the info Andrew,

Although I have toyed with the idea of changing it whats in there is nice and clean and common sense tells me not to fix what isn't broken.

          Ian.

I'm using Halfords pink antifreeze, it says it's suitable for all engines including mixed metal and I've had no problems.

I did flush all the old stuff out first.
