    Bonnet Insulation pad

Gent's just ordered up this afternoon new bonnet insulation pad from Padks.

They were way cheaper than anyone else I contacted. I have found them to be very helpful as I seem to be dealing with them more as their equipment is pretty good and the prices are competitive to say the least.

Just hope the insulation pad is as good quality as their competitors. Has anyone bought bonnet pad from PAD-KS

Got mine from Rimmers when they had a no VAT offer, I think it came to about ÂŁ75 delivered. I must say with the stainless steel plates and repainted cross bar it does look good.

      Hi Mike,
Paddocks did me a deal on 10 off insulation pads about five years ago for our area SOC members.
Everyone was delighted with them, and mine still looks like new.
      cheers bud,
      Peter

That's good news that it should be good quality, I have also bought from flea bay, the S/S plates with the engraved Stag logo, should be nice with a bit of bling LOL.

Really should remove engine and get engine bay done, but this will have to wait until next winter. Never removed an engine before so should be fun to say the least

My Stag came without one. Does it really need it?. Some say without it the bonnet will warp, it helpscut out noise from engine. I have also been told that it is better without it as the engine bay keeps much cooler.:?

I removed my pad as I've got louvers in my bonnet for looks and extra cooling and would defeat the object if I re installed it.

It's deadening the sound of my garage hanging on wall now, I should obviously sell it.

I assume we are talking SOCTFL remanufactured ones for around 70 poonds?

When you get it, check that the edges aren't coming apart. Talking to EJ Wards at Stoneleigh they siad there were a few coming down the line now where the bonding was sub-standard and the edges were coming apart. They were good enough to tell me that and refunded without question the one I'd bought on pre-order.

Went across to Robsport, who had a whole stack, but I had to wade through about 6 of them to find a good one which was bonded around the entire circumference.
                The answer isn't 42, it's 1/137
