    led dial lights

I put LEDs in my dials. At night i notice the reflection of them on the wind screen. I can't believe I'm the only one.

I don't have that problem with mine. I left the green plastic filters inside the bulb holders in place and fitted blue leds. Result is a blue-white colour that does not reflect on windscreen even with the dimmer on high.

Mine reflect on the windscreen. And they’re green. But it’s better than trying to peer at the dials inadequately lit before the LEDs were fitted.

I’m sure that was not a factor in the 70s design of dashes!

A few years ago I rented a Skoda that had such a bad reflection off of the chrome trimmed dash vents that you could not see out of the offside mirror.

I just turn the lights down on the dimmer. If I’m driving at night I’m interested in the road, not what the instruments tell me and the LEDs are way too bright on full.

I have a mk1. I installed a oil/temp gauge. and that one reflects the most as it has an open space at the front to emit more of the light.

fit an LED compatible dimmer, stick tape over the the gauges when driving at night. or don't drive at night

seriously though I keep my mk2 dash lights dim. maybe tape a piece of card over the top of the dash to stop the reflection on the windscreen if it worries you

Stick non reflective sticky tape on screen over reflections.

Was not aware I could get a rheostat that would work with LEDs. Not sure it’s worth the bother either though as I prefer to drive the Stag in day time unless absolutely necessary. It’s tucked up in its garage after hours.

Even easier fix, don't drive at night.
