    Power Steering Pump spacer 152145

I found the spacer which i think is p.no.152145 on the rail above the alternator, from the state of it, it had obviously been lying there for a considerable time. According to the Rimmers diagram it should be between the the top bolt's nut and the pump. There is no space for it on my 1972 Mk1.5.
I searched 152154 and someone back in 2013 also had the spacer missing and no space for it.
Was the PAS bracket altered at some stage or am I looking in the wrong place? Everything works OK!
    Steve.

One of my Stags had a nut instead of that spacer and the other Stag's bracket was bent. The PO didn't know that there was meant to be a spacer. My kid 3D printed two spacers for me. Both my Stags are Mk1s

The bracket has 3 points which attach to the pump. The spacer goes on one of the bottom ones furthest from the engine

I just looked at the rimmer site. That spacer on mine goes on the bracket at the front of the pump and not on the back. On my pump two mounting points to that front bracket are at the same level, one is not. That spacer compensates for that. it's difficult to see when the pump is on car. Probably the PO took the pump off and that spacer dropped out. Again I have a '71 Stag.

I've checked again and there are no places the spacer can fit and the bracket is not distorted, all the bolt holes are in the same plane. It must have come from somewhere or was the pump replaced?

I'll have to take the pump off and investigate.

That pump comes in different flavors. Mine looks similar to this and that spacer goes here. I got this photo from the web. Maybe your pump doesn't need the spacer or it has been changed. It's a bit odd you finding that spacer.

Sujit, Your pump looks different to mine. It is odd to find the spacer, I'll look again tomorrow.

No, it fits between the rear bracket plate and the pump, not at the front. The illustration on the Rimmers page shows it clearly.

What may be interesting is that I don’t recall seeing a rear bracket plate, but I will check mine tomorrow.

Sujit, Apologies, you were quite right, the ROM and Rimmers are wrong. The endoscope photo is of the bolt at the front under the pump and furthest from the block and you can see where the spacer is missing.

All fixed and mystery solved, thanks

                      Steve.

Apologies. The spacer is on the front, not the rear - again the ROM is in error. I checked mine earlier and there isn’t a spacer on the rear, I didn’t see the front one but if it’s at at the bottom I’m not surprised!

NP. I messed around last year on two Stags trying to figure out why I had no power assist on one Stag. I rebuilt a pump and swapped pumps and noticed this spacer was missing.
