Has anyone got a RH outer door handle that I could buy? I'm not too worried about corrosion in the bowl part but the top lip that hooks under the door skin on the one I have is breaking away. ISTR they are made of monkey metal so no chance to solder it.....

A few years ago, I was invited to a factory tour of top-end audio hifi manufacturer Linn, in Scotland. They highly rate mazac as the preferred material for making their turntable platters. It has good mass, and is easy to balance, as well as absorbing unwanted vibrations.Originally posted by jbuckl View PostMazak is quite a good material for decorative parts.
it’s possible to repair with alloy brazing rods.

just saying.
But then, they don't chrome plate them, and leave them in the rain for 50 years like we do!

I saw a program where a company in Basildon repaired a door handle and chromed using a chemical paint looked amazing.
The benefit is it covers anything so you can fill holes or corrosion in the handle rub smooth and Chrome spray it. The chemicals used are the same thatâs used to make the backing on mirrors, might be another way to keep the original handles.
