    Door mirror spacers

Hi All, I've gone and bought some door mirror spacers from Robsport in an attempt to try and get some visibility on what's behind... Has anyone on here fitted these as the only instruction is they fit between head/stem, I have undone the nut on the stem which appears to lock the mirror housing but it does not readily come apart, I've then removed the mirror glass & black plastic surround to find that there is not bolt or screw mechanism.
Without wanting to damage anything, how to I separate these to fit the spacers behind the mirror housing?
    Thanks Dave

there is a small screw on the side which u remove. and then pull out the stem from the end. loosen the nut a bit. I tried these and they didn't help. in the end I got a rotary tool out and ground away some of the metal. this method was suggested here. it's better. I added a small blind spot mirror to help.

No need to remove the glass. the screw is close to the bottom of the stem

I tried these, with new tex mirrors, they were too thick and the hole in the stud part that fits in the arm would not line up to allow me to fit the screw back. in the end i used the rotary tool and enlarged the mirror cut out to allow more movement.derek

I did the same, but frankly not to much effect. I seen somewhere that one of the Nissan door mirrors fit better with better adjustment for the mirror.

A lot depends on where the mirror bases are attached to the doors. I have seen them in many different positions in both vertical and horizontal planes. Personally, I have had little problem getting a good view behind, and I am over 6 feet tall. I have got the spacers fitted, sourced from LDParts, which gives a bit more adjustment. Convex glass in the mirrors helps. This is readily available from any stockist that sells Tex mirrors.

Echoing what Dave said above, I have only one mirror fitted on yellow stag (it came like that) but whoever fitted it did a great job of choosing the fixing location. I’m 6’5” and I get a great rear view through it even with a flat mirror.

Could you please confirm where the spacers fitted. I would love to have the view in the mirrors like yours!

Davebat63, Hi, would you have a part no for these mirror heads please? I've fitted the new washers, but found they didn't make much difference, it looks like the convex glass heads will do the job.
