    Garage Floor paint

    Hi All

After some advice and recommendations on a good floor paint for the garage. The floor already has a solvent floor paint on it (Dulux) on the concrete which has been great and its been down years now Makeover time and I want to change the colour too Going light grey

    Thanks

    Andrew,

Although you mention "light grey" (mine is pale blue) ensure that you buy floor paint with a RAL number then you can always get a matching'ish colour to repair the damage that is inevitable on a garage floor.

But you probably already knew that!

ps light colours great for finding dropped bits.

My garage has white walls and originally my floor was light blue and i had to change it as it looked like I was in a swimming pool LOL
Changed it to dark red / brick colour and now want to clean it detergent band then grey it up

I used the one sold in b&q in red but other colours available it lasted for 20 years with the odd touch up

I used a 2 part epoxy paint, grey and you can buy "flakes" to shake over it whilst still wet, looks fine and tough as long as you prep the concrete well. It was great..

Then went on to ruin it when I restored and painted my car in there.. so I now go with a single part concrete paint (with flakes!) that was much cheaper and I just refresh it after I finish a project!

Why use paint Andrew when you can have a lovely warm damp preventing rubber floor like mine made from stable floor matting?

Drop anything on it it bounces and being black oil spots get lost in the background plus of course, they just wipe off!

Here’s what it is on eBay:

6 x 4ft Bubbletop Horse Pony Stable Mat | 12mm Thick | Heavy Duty Rubber Matting

                Cheers

I went all posh with PVC Ecotile flooring over 10 years ago.
Went over it with some multi purpose cleaner and jet wash patio cleaner attachment a couple of weeks ago. Back to as new.
