Gent's looking through Rimmers catalogue and was looking at Paddocks web site and they both sell quick fit sills. What is a quick fit sill?? and what are they for

They fit quicker then a normal cill and they are for replacing sills.

Yes I pretty well gathered that, but I maybe did not as the question properly. What would be the benifit of fitting these. They are also way cheaper so kind of wondered whats, what??

a quickfit sill is also known as a skin sill its a pattern part and does not include the sill step as original so it ends on the lip as you open the door. if these sills are fitted for a mot pass at a "garage"they are put over the existing sill and the rust a bodge up.
but if you cut the old sill off leaving the rear wheel arch return , the bit just before the front wing and the lip inside the door return they can be plug welded and are a good fit .they are alot cheaper as you would have noticed.

Regarding the quick-fit sill and the Stag. The best advice is not to touch them with a bargepole.
Over the years far too many Stags have had poor repairs in the sill area and this is in many cases downright dangerous as the sill is the main stress bearing member of the car. If it is not sound in the area behind the front wing where the A-post meets it,then there can be no proper structural integrity.
