Tonneau area

Hi guys
i am looking for some advice, the tonneau area on the Stag I recently bought ( my first Stag) is pretty untidy, in the past it has had welding repairs on the wheel arches etc but then just untidily can sprayed with black rust proof, I don't fancy stripping the rear seat area and soft top out to get it sprayed back to original colour of old English white, has anyone lined theirs with car soundproofing or vinyl etc?

white hammerite perhaps. but you'll need to take the seat and stuff out.

I have seen pictures recently of this area covered in sound deadner that's foil backed.
check it out first as the stuff I bought to use turned out NOT to be fire proof although it was claimed to be.
I put a march to it and checked, its still in the garage after getting a refund

the white hammerite might be an option rather than any material that may be flammable

Why not cover it in carpet and horse hair underfelt like the rest of the cabin? That’s not flammable

No, its normally just painted body colour.

I was being sarcastic on the carpet comment, its not an area where I would worry too much about flammables. The seat squab would go up like a torch!

The sound deadening material seems a fine idea to me..
