Back on the road after 3 years

Finally, our Stag passed its Norwegian MOT with flying colors today!

It was taken off the road because of a leaking head gasket that turned out to be a badly scratched block sealing surface. The engine was rebored and crank reground. We took the opportunity to change a rusty battery box and repaint the engine bay and front of the car. A kilometre of wiring from a aftermarket alarm was removed and everything in the engine bay was cleaned with thinner to remove matte black spray paint that had been applied to absolutely everything .

    Finally nice weather also!

Congratulations and well done. How many Stags are there in Norway? Can't be many?
Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.

I am not sure! Tried a search and it came up with 49. In fact I would have guessed a lower number!

Looks absolutely gorgeous. Looks ready to take on the Atlantic Highway.

I had better go out and clean and polish my beastie.

It started out as Mallard Blue, but we have receipts from 1983 where the car was repainted "Original BL Mallard". I think it might be Mallard Green, but I am not sure about that either. I had the color scanned and they mixed a batch of a Cadiallac colour that is a good match. This might not be appropriate to say here, but I like it even better than Mallard Blue...

Atlantic Highway is right by where I live (Kristiansund), I have driven it in the Stag several times. Never stopped to take a photo though, I will do and post!

49 eh? More than I would have expected.

Anyway, enjoy your car now you have revived it. I suspect you may get even fewer dry days than we do!
