    Soft top bolt 623754

I'm trying to figure out he problem with my softtop. The ROM shows the washers totally different to my setup.
The ROM I think is wrong. If you see the photo, WP179 is shown but next to the nut, but these wasters go against the heads in other locations,
With my Stag I have in this order WP179 then the bar then 2 WP111. The bolts screw in the the frame and then its locked in with a nut. The WP179 washers are thicker here than anywhere else. Can anyone clarify what is right?

Sujit, I do think in this instance the Parts Catalogue (not ROM) got it right on page 06-34 for part number 632754. As my photos show, the PC part numbers are what worked for me BUT with a non-factory washer.
In some of the frame joints, different spacer/washer combo than those shown on the PC may be required to get a perfect fit. Some car’s frames will vary as well.
It took me ages but I got it right for my car in the end. I used page '06-34' from the PC as a fairly accurate guide but I did need to buy a couple of differing size extra washers (not spacers) as well as using the factory originals. I did not need to buy or substitute any further spacers. I had accumulated a good collection of the original spacers over the years.
You may have mostly finished the frame but just in case:
I started by following the PC assembly. Then tested each joint independently for easy movement, making sure it would easily pivot (not too tight but not loose either) before I assembled the frame as a whole.
From what I gathered there are 4 different factory smaller spacer sizes from about 2mm thickness up. And one washer size, WP179 about 0.85mm thickness. I grouped all the different factory sizes I had in a container and took a photo (attached).
So, 4 different smaller size spacers (top row of photo) as mentioned, 3 different larger size spacers (middle row of photo) and what I classed as ‘washers’, WP179 (bottom row of photo).
I found the original factory screws to be far superior than the remanufactured offerings; which I hated. Easy to over tighten and snap them for a start. The Rimmer’s frame diagram (last time I checked) or bolt kit offering was not right for me.
The attached photos are what worked for me on that side. The shiny chrome washers shown are the new ones I had to fit to get 623754 right.

I often find the old '74 parts handbook useful for fiddly bits like soft top and seats. Maybe there's a clue here.

Yes, I've seen that diagram before, it's very useful with more detail. Now I know where its from!
What were they thinking when they updated the PC??

          +1 on the shimming..

Get some 3/8" Arbor shims in various thicknesses,.. invaluable for shimming them up. The stock shims are probably no good now that there's almost 50 years of wear there!

I got some from Zorro, about $6 each pack of 10.

Thanks all. I did a bit more digging and have confirmed with another photo from someone else. I cant recall who gave me document, but I can't post it here as the zipped file is still to big to upload.
There are two thick washers which go back-to-back.

Sorry I was meant to say PC and not ROM.

Good to see it worked for you in the end Sujit.
I know I mentioned the PC was correct in this case but having a closer look at my photos and my car I realised that it's not what I actually followed!
If you have a closer look at my photos, what worked for me was the below:

Bolt/screw head 623754, then 'spacer' - factory part number 623729 ("ALT 623755"), then hood stick/frame, then another 'spacer' - factory part number 623729 ("ALT 623755"), then "Washer - plain light" - factory part number WP111, then hood stick/frame, then of course "Nut - jam" factory part number JN2107.

The PC washers shown - two lots of WP111 and one of WP179 would have either been too tight or too loose when I would have tested that joint for movement and I would have found the above combo mentioned as a better fit.

If you or anyone want to try it, here are the below caliper measured widths:

"Spacer", 623729/Alt 623755: these are the 'spacers' with widths ranging from about 2.37mm to 2.57mm
"Washer - plain light", WP111: easy enough to distinguish which ones these are, ranging in with from about 2.06mm to 2.10mm.

All enough to do my head in!
