Jab number two

Nice trip out last evening to get my second Astra Zen’ jab, the perfect way in which to visit the chemist!

I’ve been so lucky over the last weeks while my son uses the Cooper as his car is broken - not a drop of rain and roof down every time.
As I got back in the car last evening a chap stopped by my window and said “love that car, what is it? I told him and he said is that American?
Sadly just a bit too young to remember the good motoring years

Good luck, the second one didn’t hurt at all really - first one caused a day of, shall we say, discomfort......

Both management and I were ill after the first jab, but no adverse symptoms after the second. According to the kind nurse who gave my second jab, it is because we both probably had the wretched virus before. We both caught a non stop cough and experienced a loss of sense of smell and taste skiing in February 2020. The resort was full of Italian registered cars! Thinking it was a bad dose of flu we did self isolate on return home.

Just back, an hour ago, from our second AZ jab.
Had my usual VasoVagal episode in the medical room, but we had prewarned them.
I was pretty ill for 4-5 days after the first, hoping the news stories that the second jab doesn't cause the same level of adverse reaction are true.

That’s interesting, over here the general consensus is that the second jab is the one that causes a slight reaction, certainly did with most of my family.. I wonder if that is something to do with the different spacing? We are sticking with the 3/4. Week between jabs and I’m guessing you guys are on 12 weeks?

Also different jabs different effects Terry. Our friends had the Pfizer jab - very little reaction to the first, but more with the second. I believe that the AstraZeneca experience is known to be the other way around.
Our gap between jabs, and our friends also, was 10 weeks.

Yup, that may be it, we had Moderna

Most jabs here are Moderna and Pfizer.. or were when we got them.

Only a bit of a hot flush the morning after the first AZ jab, and nothing after the second.
The Mrs with the AZ was poorly for a couple of days and also a very sore arm, she hasn't had the second one yet.
Interestingly I organised mine through my GP, when notified by them. Not given the date of the second jab at the time, but notified later when I could receive it, which was exactly after 7 weeks for the following day.
The Mrs organised via the NHS, and her second was advised at the same time... at approximately 12 weeks later.
It wasn't just me who had the second one exactly after 7 weeks either, friends in the village who had the first on the same day as me also had the second on the same day too. So I think anything from 3 to 12 weeks is okay, with the 12 weeks when organised via the NHS is simply to first jab more initially.
