Water on passenger footwell - windscreen?

Morning all. I'm new to the forum but been a member for about ten years, so sorry if this is covered in the mass of info on this forum, but I could use some advice. My Stag was fitted with a new special order windscreen from Pilkington's, with heater elements. I provided a new rubber seal and it was fitted by a guy that my body shop knows.

The passenger carpet felt wet after going out last in in heavy rain. I'm guessing the windscreen might be the most likely cause of the water coming in but are there other possibilities that I should investigate? If it is the windscreen, my rather grumpy screen man says there's a 50/50 chance of it breaking if he tries to take it out - so, also looking for someone a bit more confident and capable if anyone has any recommendations. I live in the Guildford area. All thoughts welcome. Many thanks. James

    James.
If it wasn't leaking with the old screen, the new one looks like being the culprit. They are notoriously difficult to seal even with a new rubber, and regularly need the addition of a mastic sealer.
This can easily be applied after fitting with a "Gun". I would get it done on the glass and body side, which will almost certainly cure the leak without having to remove the screen. It has always been done that way on my Stag when I have had a replacement screen fitted.

What Mike said plus it’s always worth checking you haven’t lost a grommet in the bulkhead area and your wiper spindles are dry.

no reason it should break when removing it, if it comes to that, I reckon he just doesn’t want to do it.

It could also be entering via the hood securing lever hole in the top windscreen panel and going down the A post, it did on mine at one point.
Check the carpet on the sill at the bottom of the A post for dampness.

Many thanks for the rapid and well-informed answers chaps. Great to hear that is something that can be fixed reasonably simply! Have a great weekend all!
