After 8 yrs my washer bottle decided to sacrifice itself onto the manifold. Is there a reason why it would do such a thing? Is there a solution to prevent this happing again other than affixing an unsightly strap around the bottle? Many thanks. M

I am guessing that it may have been a replacement bottle that was not a perfect fit on the original support bracket. When you buy the new one you may be able to buy a new/correct bracket to go with it.
If not a bit of careful bracket "Adjustment" might make ii more secure.
