Facebook Triumph Stag group has many members, no doubt most of us on here and I've occasionally contributed but torn between FB and this forum, don't want to duplicate questions/comments - which do people prefer and tend to use?
I tend to agree with you especially with ability to comment on individual replies and also covers a larger community. Just wonder whether one is better than the other in quality of responses?
At least the responders on here have got a Stag and some idea what they are talking about. On FB you regularly get advice from someone who saw a Stag back in 1978 or whose mate once filled one up with petrol, so consider themselves experts.

I'm with Dave, a lot of funny and sometimes dangerous answers on FB, yes there a few who correct them but not as good as is forum, just my thoughts.
I would add that the "club" seems to damage the forum more than the members, maybe that is why FB is popular, is is just my thoughts again, but having been a member for 11yrs, I have only heard the forum mentioned a couple/ of time as a good source of information and the brilliant technical section, when I have been at meetings etc, I don't hear new member's being told that if your need help there's always this resource with someone who has had the same problems. WHY
While I'm here , thanks to you all that have help me with problems over the years
Thanks for comments and especially DJT - good reasoning, I'll try to post questions more on SOC and see how it goes, just like one place to read and write . Facebook is easier to use tho - I added a comment and received an invite to video call where we discussed it further with a tour of his workshop! Retorical question but do we attrract the same level of foreign interest as Facebook does?
Hi MandM, aware there has been past controversey on this forum, but thats the way forums go sometimes! Personally I get annoyed when individuals think they're the expert and noone else can have an alternative view or idea - I especially don't like it when people sound off about suppliers and kinda think Facebook is the place for them
Hi, renewed my stag acquaintance about 18months ago and immediately joined SOC. The forum has proved to be an invaluable resource to me. I have also joined the FB Stag group which by definition is more social media and general rather than technical. I have as mentioned above also recognised SOC members on FB. I would say if you want to show off your car, its tweaks or post a video FB will be the place. if you want good advice from experienced Stag owners its SOC forum.

Lots of support for SOC forum, thats great . I've been an SOC member for several decades and the club is brilliant, but I just like one source of info and one site to use and curious which people prefer. FB is easier to see and link to,and of course free for everyone maybe should be pleased there aren't more out there!
I find the guys on SOC forum have a good sense of humour, they have a dig at each other now and again but make up qiuckly. On FB that seems different. Some are not helpful, and you have cliques of them........one thing I have noticed is that if you want something (perhaps buy) most of them in a chorus will say they have it, but thats as far as it gets.
Also people tend to get offended very quickly on FB.
If you own a Stag then this forum is a must.
Biggest problem with FB is you can't really go to it and search for a particular problem.
It's one big dumping ground, no sub sections, no thread title.
A few other car groups I have seen a very good forum die in favour of FB.
Big shame.
For me it's the difference between social and technical, and as I'm still working on my stag I've not venterued onto Facecloth.........
Then again my wife says I'm not social anyway
It would be interesting to know why there are Club Officers who seem happy to comment and/or post about Stag matters on FB under their real names, but who avoid this forum. Unless they are on here under a pseudonym.....
