    Alternator

Been putting new seats in, more of that later.
got the car out of the garage no ignition light?
    checked battery, no charge.
Plug out and with the ignition on 10v at brown/ yellow wire. Should wake alternator up OK.
thinking bulb has gone, but a bit brain fried after 4 hours in the sun.
    Any other bright ideas.
    Thanks Phil

I'd second that having had the same issue and taken the dash apart to trace wiring only to find it was a poor connection under the bonnet.

Well further tests, rigged up new warning light, that goes out ok when the car is started, but still no charge.
so dash out replaced the led with an incandescent bulb, light comes on ok, but anly dims when the engine has started, no charge and bulb still dim.
So has the alternator blown the bulb?
Who knows, but I need to replace the bulb and alternator.

Battery staying steady at 12.7v no increase to 13.7v on revving engine, it's just a pain, but what else would I be doing in retirement
