Original Steering Wheel, Alloys, Wood Veneer.

Hi, I would like to find out what the likes and dislikes are regarding keeping the original steering wheel, alloys and keeping the original colour/ veneer of the dash and surrounding wood. Also Original colour of body and interior.
What is your chouce and why? If aftermarket items are preferred then which ones?
    Thanks for your anticipated input.

Hmm this is going to be a controversial thread!

Dash vinyl..original black all the way

Dash wood veneer.. some leeway there. Though IMHO burl is overrated.

Steering wheel.. again no problem with a moto-lita or suchlike - if it’s in period.

I’m fine with the standard alloys, or replacements like minilites, maybe even 15” but not fond of the more blingy ones.

Body colour- original if you can but if you really hate it...go for it! Some non standard colours suit the stag.. others don’t!

Interior- the standard pattern/ colours are fine by me.. Ok maybe leather if you must. The only thing I did was break up the vast expanse of tan on mine with black armrests.

    I’m so boring!

I feel the danger of straying too far off original is a big expense but possible turnoff for many and a loss of value.. unless you find that perfect person that likes all that you like..

It’s a personal thing at the end of the day. I think the designers got it pretty much perfect on the MK2 can’t beat the original alloys and the steering wheel for that matter, all be it a little thin on the rim. Moro lita flat wheels just don’t look right must be the same dish and slotted and not with holes.I have yet to see a moto lita wood rim that matched the dash colour plus I would have to fit the centre wheel logo cap if I was to go down that route. The Shelby Cobra replica moto lita would be a good choice
Too many changes will devalue the car that’s for sure, and why would you, it’s pretty much perfect in standard cosmetic guise in my opinion.

I made my mind up, I have had this Steering wheel when I bought the Red Stag, 2009. I took it off amd put on a Mota lita wooden one. Its near enough mint condition. It will be going on the Sapphire Stag. I am not going to change the wood either, reveneered it ( picture ). Also original Alloys will look the biz on the Sapphire.
The steering on the Sapphire right now is original as well and with a little clean will come out very good, in fact really good.
