Recon clutches

Hi,

The clutch release bearing in the stag has failed and am looking at options to replace the clutch while the gearbox is off, although it feels OK I dont know when it was last replaced or what with...

Seems that new Borg Beck clutches are out of stock at all the usual sources, but I have been told about exchange reconditioned B&B clutches, does anyone have any real world experience of these please? Or am I better off going for AP branded clutch?

I don't but I am interested in the Victor, FC or FD? My dad had one of each in the early 1970s, both estate cars, FC 1600 and FD2000. Lovely motors

Hi Richard,

The victor was also my Dad's, it was his absolute pride and joy and we are fortunate enough to have been able to keep it after he passed, treasured memories. It's certainly very different to the Stag. It's awaiting me finding the time to rebuild its sticky brake calipers and replace the worn out clutch (funny how both cars need the same things doing....) but otherwise it's in really nice nick. Some pics if you are interested.

Then back on topic, if anyone has any experience of recon clutch??
