In my quest to make my 73 a bit more comfortable I managed to find a pair of seats from a R34 Nissan skyline for $100 each. At that price it was worth the risk to make them fit and replace the original seats with a more modern seat that gives more lumbar support and overall updated look.
Chose these seats as they were low like the Stag ones and did not have any electrics to worry about. Many newer seats tend to sit higher and wanted to maintain a similar seating height.
I removed the seat mount brackets from the runners and found the mounting holes in the outer runners line up exactly with the outer stag seat mounting holes, the inners rails not so lucky.
The inner rails are about 30mm wider than the Stag original so I made up a plate and welded it to the inner rail then drilled mounting holes to line up with the stag mounting holes.
The fiddly bit was having to cut out a small section of the transmission tunnel and reweld a new plate in to allow the inner seat runner to extend its full travel.
Happy with the look, fit and feel. These will look better when redone in a nice beige type colour leather, that's when I will redo the door cars and rear seats.
