HSCC meet at Silverstone - 28 March

You read the heading right! I was at Silverstone yesterday to watch some of my other favourite cars racing. An added bonus was Tony Hart's race-prepared Stag, out on track and looking and sounding fabulous! I couldn't find a programme, so cannot be certain of who was driving the beast but it was sure great to see another of my absolute favourite cars getting it on with other big sports cars.

I did not get any action photos of it because the vantage point that my friends and I chose did not suit the limited zoom capability of my camera too well. Also, I did not manage to find the car in the paddock.

But it was so nice to see it out and about, having a lot of fun!

This is my second attempt to submit this. My photos were too large on my first attempt so I pressed “back” and all my text was deleted … GRRRRRRRRRR!
This time I’m saving it in Word first!

I too was at Silverstone yesterday. It was a great day. The rain held off and there were some exiting races. Tony drove his Stag in a 20-minute race, against the likes of TVR Tuscans, Lotus Elans, Lotus Cortinas, Alfa Romeo 2000 GTVs, etc.

Tony only managed 20^th out of 21. I met him in the paddock afterwards and he told me the engine was low on power, but everything else was working fine, so he hopes to do a lot better once the engine’s sorted.

I’m attaching a couple of photos taken in the paddock. I watched the race from behind a wire fence so didn’t get any photos of it.

I’d encourage you all to support Tony at one or more of his future races. See the website, or page 29 of the current magazine, for the dates.

No, it wasn't, John. Mine is a shell in primer in my garage at the moment. :?I saw two lovely Stags in the car park, though; which one was yours - red or mimosa yellow? Or neither?

Tony is a top bloke and definitely deserves our support. In fact, there should be more Stags in club motor sport, in my view. It is a very capable, good handling car with a lot of potential from its power train.

Maybe I should restore mine as a race car... Mind you, I have a Singer Chamois for that. :dude:

I for one wish Tony every success in his future endeavours, motor sport or otherwise. I hope to get along to see many more HSCC meets. If they are as good as yesterday's, then it's a must!

Glad to hear that the car finnished. It was at Bromley last June and it sounded good.

When you say low on power - is that on the day or generally?

I wasn't in my Stag unfortunately. One of the teams had a yellowStag parked by their trailerbut it was someone's road car, not a racing one.
As to Graham's question,I understood Tony to mean there was a reason for the lack of power on Sundayand that it will hopefully be rectified soon.
