Stag no.2 had been hit at the front in the past. The gap between front panel and bonnet is smaller on one side. Can I assume they didn't come out of the factory like this?
Sujit
No.
if repairs were carried out correctly this should have been addressed.
if any damage is still visible even the slightest crease could pull things out or line, but what is the door gap like?
It could be that it's just the front panel needs easing foward a little.
A lot of work for little gain, but how Perfect do you want it?
Like I always say your car ,your choice
I wouldn’t be so sure - a friend of mine has a car with the wheelbase 1” longer on one side than the other and he’s pretty sure that it’s not had a shunt
Paul - 3 projects, 1 breaker - garage built and housing 2 white Stags. One runs, one doesn't
on one of my cars, the bonnet sits higher than the front panel, i think this was done as the wind blue the bonnet forward and has bent the headlight panel, are you sure a similar thing has not happened to your car
I read somewhere that if all the panels fitted exactly it was a sign the car had been doctored. I had a brand new Hillman Avenger back then and you could see the road through the gap at the bottom of the drivers door. Extra ventilation at least. Also, the Lamborghini concessionaire in London was a client at the time and the Countach bodies fitted very badly but it was accepted that if you wanted perfect bodies you bought a Merc.. The Countach was essentially an F1 car with a different body bolted on. I was taken for a ride by the top mechanic who was also a racing driver. What an experience and who cared about body panels not matching. Same goes for the Stag.

Did you have to have your fillings redone after your ride in the Countach..
