Thanks Chris. I've never heard of 'AFAIK' before but ITICWOWIM (I Think I Can Work Out What It Means !)

Thanks also for your earlier "When the seal is fitted in the channel, its purpose (obviously?) is to prevent the ingress of water, soshould there not be any water to impede the flow of?"

I know it sounds stupid now, but I really hadn't thought about that. To me there appeared to be a channel with drain holes at the end of it so I assumed the channel was for draining :?

I'm still going to take lots ofanti corrosion measures in the channel and look for the most waterproof glue I can find !

    Cheers

    Julian

      Thanks for your input Chris.

Julian, I think we both ended up with the information we were looking for.

Regarding the glue, in the pastI have generally used Wickes Contact adhesive for anything from securing interior trim to adhering seals. It's made by Bostick, sets like rubber, and all the air can be squeezed out whilst it's setting to reduce the possibility of water getting trapped.

      Cheers,

      Jeremy
