Just after buying my Stag almost 20 years back, I bought some 1 piece seat foam and Mk2 cover from RB. I later got a pair of seats from a parts car which has some good seats in it so I have them in the car now. Stag no. 2 needs the foam replaced. I got the foam out, but am finding that the foam is rather soft. I'm thinking of cutting out the bit of foam which my bottom sits on and replace it with some heavy duty foam.
Has anyone gone down this route or is the 1 piece foam with a new seat diaphragm good enough to support a 160 lb chap?
I remove the seat cover from the original foam which appears to be made of multiple pieces of firm and soft foam and noticed the cover is glued to the foam where the basket weave material end and the regular vinyl starts. (see photo) I have a new cover and am wondering should I glue the new seat cover in a similar fashion?
YouTube videos does not show this part being glued.
