Great weekend, many thanks to all who organised it and to all the marshalls who endured the rain. Great to hear that the club won the cup for best owners club stand.

I heard that over 450 were booked in, shame that about 100 dropped out, some possibly due to not wanting to get their cars wet! They missed out on a very nice brass commemorative badge.Last edited by KOY 23; 1 August 2021, 21:58.

I spoke to Roger and Lesley who were manning the 'official clicker' and they reached 367 shortly before we had to assemble for the parade lap. This was 100 below the number of Stags booked in, and for which the club had subsidised the tickets to the tune of ÂŁ30 each, so quite a loss in effect. Yes, some fell by the wayside on the way up (I am aware of 3), but I heard of several who decided not to go because it was wet!
I haven't seen a figure for the number actually on the parade lap, but there were several who didn't take up the opportunity.Dave

It was good to meet up with many old friends from here (not all sadly). Great effort by the club.

Here is a link to the Silverstone Youtube video of the day. It is a long video, but scroll through to around 4h 02m to see the Stags. Mine is the red one with roof down and all headlights on at around 4h 11m.

My car got throughly wet on Saturday, so that wasn't going to stop me going on Sunday, but having to take my 90 yr old MiL to hospital certainly did.

I can't see how the Club would have lost money, as surely people had paid for the tickets they didn't use anyway? Happy to be re-educated if it didn't work like that?Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.

It was sad that 100 people did not turn up but I am sure that many had very good reasons besides the weather putting them off. For instance they may have been available last year when they bought their ticket but could not make this year due to other commitments, they may have been pinged and were isolating, they may still feel uncomfortable about mixing in large crowds, they may still be vulnerable or, like Wilf, an unexpected event prevented him from attending. Yes they missed out on a good day out but it is unfair to make them feel guilty by accusing them of making a loss for the club.

Well done and thank you to all who organised the event and helped on the day.

 Hi all
Have to say, I am a little disappointed I didn’t book to take the stag over the weekend. I was there (in the passenger seat of a cobra)…though the sight of the stags going round (which seemed endless at the time), was amazing! Some great videos and photos also. Was great to see so many stags in one place…wonder what the next opportunity will be.
 I saw a number of 375 being there…
 Thanks all
 Mark

I would just like to thank SOC for organising the event on Sunday and also the 50th anniversary badge, it was a nice touch.
I really enjoyed the parade lap which I was joined by a good friend ( a TVR owner) and his son who also really enjoyed the day.
Thanks for all the volunteers on the day.

My tickets were paid for direct to the Club, was that not the case for all? I thought that was why Tony had to do it that way, because Silverstone did not have their systems up in time for people to book direct with the club code?Originally posted by KOY 23 View PostTickets were booked with Silverstone direct, and the SOC paid Silverstone the subsidy for each one, which would be identified by the special booking ref. Or is this too obvious?
