    Frameless windows

I wish the Stag had frameless door windows like other Triumph models, I was given a door from a GT6 and is mechanism makes use of a penta-graph mechanism to keep the glass parallel. The glass I think is longer so it still have a guide to keep it parallel. I have a spare Stag door and have pondered on this idea for many years. Last night my wife's modern car's window wouldn't go up. I took the panel off. The mechanism has failed after 15 years. The mechanism is a relatively simple here is a link to one I just ordered. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . It's operated by wires. Maybe something like this could be rigged up to operate the Stag glass and keep it parallel to the frame.
I have seen photos of a frameless Stag, but the widows were down or removed. Has anyone with time explored this?

TR mgb spitfire and suchlike don’t have a B post, Unless you remove B post and T bar on the Stag it would only be the top rail that is visually eliminated .. is it worth it?

I have to say when I had the windows and frames out for re felt etc the car really suited it it made it a lot easier to get in and out to.

Why, do you climb through the windows to get in?

With an A pillar and B pillar, all you see is the stainless steel frame across the top.
I guess you could cut that off as the glass is still retained!!

This was the Michelotti design concept for the Stag, which had frameless doors and no B-post or T-bar. Whether it is a better design than the Stag we all know and love is a matter for conjecture. I'm not sure I prefer it.

Doing this to a stag is smart; but also not smart.
Maybe a structural dash member would make it possible.
otherwise the cars stiffness is likley to be reduced

I think the T bar makes the Stag what it is personally.

Since the factory took out the two extra stiffener panels in the sill structure, there won't be any stiffness! When a few Austin/Morris Minis were converted to drophead, they had massive extra sill strengthening. The Stag achieved stiffness, and met new roll-over safety requirements, by introducing the 'B' post and the 'T' bar. I assume that the car used without a 'T' bar to transport Charles & Diana in Gibralta wobbled quite a lot.

I read today that when the designers were driving the initial stag, no B pillars or T bar, at certain speeds the body shook so much that they could not steer straight,

Pity the Stag didn't keep it's sliding light covers, powered roof. Also a 4 litre OHC 32 valve engine, CV axles, 4 speed auto and a 3.45 diff ex factory. But I do dream.
I recently seen a U tube video of a guy in Australia who has an Estate he has converted to Stag V8 AND 4 litre 32 valve. Didn't give to much detail.
                      Cheers Ian A
