Rear Brake Adjuster

Hi all

I am working on my rear Stag brakes an found during disassembling RH and LH two versions of how the adjusters have been mounted (see pictures). I think that is the reason for all the problems I had over the years with the handbrake.

Could one of the experts please tell mewhich is the correct way of installing the lower adjuster part?

Your help is very much apreciated as I can´t continue my work. Thanks in advance.

Klaus,

according to my workshop manual it goes as follows:

The shoe with the lever and ratchet goes in front of the axle and the lever and ratchet are behind the main part of the brake shoe so that they are mostly hidden when installed. It's a bit awkward fitting the bar with the handbrake lever because the end of it has to go in the slot in the lever that you can't see!

Looking at this I'm sure mine are the wrong way round - maybe this is why the adjusters don't work:shock:

Had the same problem with mine, fitted newadjusters the correct way round, now I have a handbrake that works
