    Replacing rear valance

Hi, I'm on the verge of replacing my rear valance due to corrosion. Looking in the boot, the inner rear valance panel covers the join of the outer panels each side. Can I ask how people have replaced the outer valance panel. Do I need to cut the inner panel to access the joins ?

    Many thanks

Just drill out the spot welds on the inner valance and where it meets the boot floor

Hi Dave, many thanks for your reply. I've already drilled out the spot welds but it's the side joints that I was concerned about as they are hidden by the inner rear panel which is joined to the side strengthening panels in the boot. I'll get a picture today

I did this a few years back as the boot floor/inner valance/outer valance needed repairing drill out all the spot welds and you can remove the inner valance to give access to all the outer valance welds. Not the best of pics but hopefully will give you some idea

I take it your not removing the inner valance,so cut the outer valance near but not to near wear the valance joins the lower corner of the rear wing, once the valance is removed you can then remove the small strip left behind, when welding it back together your have to weld on the out side you cant get access to the inside joint,or you could cut two small strips of your new valance weld them to the rear corner then weld your valance back to the small strips you already fitted

Thanks Nick, the photos were great.

Hi Dave, thats exactly what I did today, its all off now. Just need to order a new one and the two lower rear wing panels that join the valance.

Funnily enough, the valance was only welded to the rear wings at the bottom and top of the panel, the rest of the sides weren't !

Many thanks for your help guy's, always appreciated.
