Help needed with stuck heads please

Morning all, After a few tests it was decided that the heads were needing to come off. Removal of all the bits went fine till we got to the studs The bolts came out in various conditions either rusted or the threads caked in an oily past, one has come out so far an is refusing to come out although it's spinning around.
The studs however is a different story. Cly 2 stud practically fell out and drenched in oil the other seven are stuck fast. The sides of the block are wet with a mixture of oil and water I might add.
So I am appealing to any one who can help with some sort of tool to remove the heads please. I am willing to travel to anyone that lives in the North West ( I live nr Southport) or would send a Hermes courier in to collect at my expense.
    Forever hopeful

If you are planning to jack the heads off the studs you will need to remove chains and guides and ideally also the exhaust manifold.

That bolt will also need to come out, did it lift up out of the block before it started to spin?

You could make your own tool to protect the heads out of some large sections of angle iron, then drill a few holes that match up with in inlet manifold bolt holes which is how you secure it toi the head.

Then I think Drew has a section of other tips in the technical section

Good luck and try not despair of it

      There you go.

To jack the heads you can use a bottle jack but it is tricky as they do not like working on the side. However an old trolley jack ram is perfick

Head bolt was very tight to begin with and the got easier but got so far then failed to come out, possibly the swarf and crud has jammed up between head and block. Chains have moved.

You may already know, but just a little tip that might save some work. Having mounted the sprockets on the keepers (as you have done) make sure the nuts are tight and keep the chains in tension otherwise the tensioners may lock on the next step, meaning removal of the timing cover to release them.

When removing bolts and studs, be patient and if they are stubborn, torque them back and forth many times and they usually start to loosen.

Do you need the sketch for making the brackets?
