Triumph Stag Graphic Catalogue

I was rummaging through my boxes in the attic and found a loose leaf book On Stag parts.. I must have got it from my friend who was in the British car business for 45 years but just put it away.

It seems to be a full parts breakdown rather like the 1978 parts catalog that I also have but its completely different, most drawings are not the same. the intro says "to be used in conjunction with the P.C.M.I transparency" and it appears to cover Mk1 only..

One feature is that it lists part numbers and all other cars where that part is also used, including Standard, Vanguard, TR4,5 250 ...but not TR6! which may indicate that its really early??

So has anyone ever come across such a document?

I have a copy, as you say very early predates parts list.
On one of the final pages it illustrates a sumpguard option that, I believe, was never actually offered, pity as Bruce and Andy on the RBRR sounds as if they needed one!

it’s a bit dog eared at the front and back pages and the last page is missing.. the sump guard page!

You'll see it's marked for 'LD1 and future'. All pages are clean apart from the front cover - Alan

Dear Trunt,

This was the first parts catalogue issued and was published in July 1970 as a sort of stop gap until they got round to a full catalogue - which they didn't manage until 1973. I have had a photocopy for thirty years and the Club have a copy in the archive box. I now have a real copy - not in good nick but it only cost £5 on E-bay, inc. postage !

It's a nice historical document but, as with all Stag parts catalogues, does contain quiet a few missing numbers and things which aren't quite right. However you would expect that as they had only made a couple fo hundered Stags when it was put to the printers and lots of stuff happened quite quickly over the next twelve months or so.

I've got that and was about to scan it until I found out that the pages are 0.0035 perches high and 0.00564 rods wide (or some other archaic measurement, chains maybe?) Even the overlap area on the scanner doesn't cover the width, so that little project is on the back burner at the moment!
