fuel pumps

hi there,

i have been given a moprod fuel pump by a friend to replace mine which is shot.

it pumps fuel ok but never stops ticking like the old one did,has anyone any experience of these pumps,is that how they work?or have i a leak between pump and tank,(looks ok) help greatly received. regards simon.

Mine too has the all-plastic moprod pump, and I can confirm that I don't start the engine until the pump has primed the carbs and stopped ticking,(well almost stopped). Maybe an internal leak, or air leak on the inlet side, (barring a fuel leak on delivery side, which you would both see and smell!).

If you have a restriction on the inlet side, due maybe to a part-blocked tank pick-up, the fuel can vapourize under the suction and ticking can happen
