Hi suspect this may be in forum but any advice will be most welcome, How much / little has to be removed to extract Triumph V8 engine and box and where is the rear lifting eye supposed to be as mine appears to be missing?? Yes this is my easter challenge to put the v8 from my mk2 into my Triumph 2500 engined Mk1 and they have to be mobile for Tues morning so any short cuts welcomed. Thanks. Martin.

Easy one first; there should berear lifting eyes held on withthe rear exhaust manifold to head bolts as per this:
I've lifted out my Stag engine with everything still on; just the obvious pipes/cables disconneted, radiator and bonnet removed.
I did remove the gear box first but if you've got the clearance and crane capacity you can lift the whole lot out as one unit.

If you haven't got the lifting eyes you can wrap strops around the exhaust manifolds ,thats how i did it .
