Inner sill to A post photos required

    Hi Folks,

I've been replacing the lower edge of the O/S inner sill, I have already removed the outer.

The front of the inner where it meets the A post and up to the bulkhead was plated from the inside as the original sill had totally rusted away at that point.

I can see how it's meant to look inside by looking at the N/S but had anyone got photos of the inner sill to A post and bulkhead/wheel arch area without the outer sill fixed in place please.

    Kind Regards

    Craig

Pool lane classics have a picture. AM restorations may also have one & manor classics.
search images on google for ‘triumph stag inner sill’
id post them here for you but adding images on this forum is almost beyond me now. Seems to have got more tricky recently. Could be my incompetence or my phone’s though

Hi Julian, many thanks, yes I have seen those.

I think the problem is that the inner sill I bought from T D Fitchet isn't quite right at the front end. The pressed part, where the cable runner is, does not extend far enough forward to support the first inch of the A post on the inside of the car. The part of the sill the fits to the inner arch/bulkhead, again is not deep enough to be where it should be at the bottom of the bulkhead inside the car, looking at my N/S one as the example.

This is the best I can find among the photos taken whilst AM Restorations were replacing the sill on mine in 2013.

Right, I found the photos I need, funnily enough on the forum. A user called Tel2660, Terry' Stag Restoration, posted photos of his extensive repair at the exact location I needed to see, thanks Terry.

So the top flange of the inner sill, at the location I'm talking about, goes on the inside of the kick panel not the outside, thats why the outer sill wouldn't sit near flush when trial fitting it.
