Well, it is that time of year!
I only change the hood setting twice a year - down in Spring and up in late Autumn. It's always been incredibly difficult, needing huge pressure at the front and back to secure it.
I've just achieved it today, but noted that the outer corners of the header rail hit the screen surround when there is still about 15mm of gap where the latches fit, so a lot of pressure is required to secure it.
Then, at the back, when the hood is finally latched down, again with body-weight above it, there is about 6mm of fresh air between the hood seal and the deck at each rear corner.
It would be virtually impossible to erect the hood in a hurry, for example in a sudden rainstorm!
It looks to me then, as if the frame is distorted, upwards in the middle at the front and downwards at the back.
I can't see how this could be adjusted out, but is there any specialist who might be able to straighten the frame? Incidentally, the hood itself looks virtually new and I've had the car for two years now.
Grateful for any advice!
Thanks,
Chris
