    Stag no. 3

Most of evening and weekends of 2019, 2020 and and the first half of 2021, I'd spend in the garage working on getting Stag no. 2 on the road. I acquired in in 2013, but didn't have play money to spend on it. It's now a runner, but no show car. With both Stags running, not much to do and with the sun going down around 5.30pm, I've now been been going to bed around 9pm. Last night at around 10pm my wife was wondering where I was. She came into the bedroom and noticed me sleeping and said, that I 've been looking a bit depressed these last few weeks and asked me what's wrong? I told her both Stags are running and there isn't much to do. She said, why not work on Stag no. 3.

          Sujit,

You can count yourself lucky on two fronts. Your understanding wife and having two Stags!

I must say I find one Stag gives me more than enough to do until I retire fully, and then, no 2 might be tempting. One to take apart and one to drive.

Three Stags? Rather than a third one why not purchase a different model of Triumph. There are lots of great Triumph models out there and variety is the spice of life

Stag no.3 is a '73 Fed parts car sitting in my back yard. It's really my second Stag originally bought for a few parts. It was and still is a rolling shell. I've held on to it for almost 20 years. While procuring the last few parts for it, I found what I call Stag no.2 which really is Stag no.4. (Don't tell the wife. ) for $500. Besides a missing engine and gearbox it was quite complete. However, having already procured an engine and box from Stag no.3 I decided to get that one on the road. Some guy in UK had spent thousands on Stag no.3 and had it imported into the US. On the surface it looked great, but it was rotten underneath. I took all the bits off it and had it junked. I hacked off the front wings as they were new.
I'm out of play money to get another Stag on the road. If they cross $50k here in my life time I would reconsider.
