Part identification

Hi groupies,

Not just a Triumph specific query but one that an older citizen of these isles might still have access to the relevant documentation.

Does anyone have a Moprod parts catalogue which includes brake ancillaries? I'm looking to see what vehicles part number MBS54 relates to. It is really difficult to read the alphanumerics on a much faded label. Some Triumph ones like the 2000 saloon and one of the TR7's perhaps (early type?).

Can anyone give a more definitive list?

The only catalogue I have that cross references MoProd stuff is Unipart and MBS54 is not listed in my 1996 Unipart Catalogue, it goes to MBS53 then jumps to MBS57. My Lockheed and Girling lists do not list MoProd equivalents.

I did find this link on google which suggests they fit Bedford Rascal (and other equivalents) 86 -90

I have a funny feeling (not a Ha, Ha one) that MSB53 might be for the early 2.0l 4-spd TR7 and 54 or 57 might be either for a Stag (54?) or a 3.5l v8 5-spd TR7 (57?)..

That's the trouble storing parts without putting additional information onto the box.

MSB53 translates to Unipart GBS795AF while the Unipart book says fits Rear Rover 2000, 2300, 2600 & 3500 (1977 - 1987) Shoe size 228.6mm dia x 57mm wide (may fit Stag with some tweaking to holes)
MSB57 translates to GBS777AF which fits Rear Austin Ambassador, Princess, Morris 18-22, Wolseley 22 Series. Shoe size 228.6mm dia x 45mm wide

Triumph Stag Rear Unipart No. is GBS804AF - Moprod MBS43 Shoe size 228.6mm dia x 57mm wide NOTE: different holes and stop shape to MBS53

Triumph TR7 Rear Unipart GBS813AF (Also Listed to fit Vauxhall Magnum [73-77] and Viva [73-79]) - Moprod MBS44 Shoe size 228.6mm x 45mm NOTE: same size as MBS57 but totally different shape metal work !!

Aaaahh, but does your catalogue not cross reference 54 (TR7/Innsbruck)?

No, No mention of MBS54 and only the one TR7 has rear shoes listed, . All the triumph stuff is listed under Rover Group. Will have a look through some of the older books I have, but they don't cross reference Moprod parts so I won't be able to link anything across.

Many thanks for checking this over. I always felt that TR7 would be in the mix somewhere (more likely to be early 4-spd). Now to check the lineage of GBS794.
