I’m replacing the fuel pipe with copper , I don’t like the plastic filter hanging over the hot exhaust manifold ,would it be better in the boot? Then run copper straight into the Carbs

I put a nickel pipe in and used fuel injector hose at each end, used AN fittings for the transitions.
I Left the glass type malpassi filter in usual place right over the manifold and have had no issues.. despite it being a lot hotter here in USA, E10 only and no mechanical fan!
I'm pretty sure my heat soak fan and water pump run on after ign off prevents any of that. I am thinking I need to move it a bit though, so that any leaks don't drop directly on the manifoldYup added that to my winter list..

Check out this discussion for a bit more insight and ideas, perhaps it may help.
Hi Staggerites, I will be fitting the 85mm Malpassi Filter King. If you have one then where have you mounted it? Pictures will be most appreciated. Also did you use the Bracket that comes with it to mount? Is 2.25psi pressure correct to set on it? Lastly have you replaced the fuel pipe from tank to filter? If so, what

I see a lot hung over the exhaust manifold. As per post #2, it should be tucked away by the wiper motor, away from direct heat. Change annually, but be careful where you buy them from. I bought a batch from a well known auction site and they started to fall apart within 3 months. The last batch I bought from an auto jumbler at a local large show and they are excellent.

I fitted a pressure regulator/ filter in the boot. If you do, check the pressure (set to 2psi) at the entry to the carb, there is quite a drop. I also fitted an insulated sleeve over the fuel pipe in the engine bay.

Evening Folks I am soon fitting a cooling fan as a back up which I will have running off a fused permanent supply. I will keep the mechanical fan and plan to have the electric fan coming on only above normal running temperature. I assume if the system is very hot, it will run on after the ignition is turned off, but I assume
