    Rear shock absorbers

I need new rear shock absorbers but am puzzeld as to why is there such a price difference between standard shocks from SOC Spares and others, and Spax, Koni etc. Is it worth the extra £100 per side? I don't do high mileage and rarely have anyone else in the car let alone in the rear seat and no luggage (except petrol can and water bottle, of course)

It rather depends on what you want. Several of us use our cars either competitively or on track days so an improvement in handling may be 'worth it'. Personally, I wouldn't go for the more expensive Konis because I don't push quite that hard but I can see where an improved damper & spring rate may be helpful! If you enjoy wafting along the motorways at 70, which is what the car was designed for, then the standard suspension is perfectly adequate. IMHO.

Thanks Mole42. You've just confirmed what I thought and saved me some £££'s

Bob a couple of weeks ago i had the same decision as you and went the replacement standard items, as Mole42 highlights i guess its what you plan to do with the car, in my case wafting sums it quite nicely, i have other options for "pressing on" and am very much look foward getting there in style rather than furiously

I have recently fitted standard shocks all round.

Ride slightly soft but it suits us perfectly.
