    Softop Alternatives

My softop is on it's last legsthrough being put up and down almost on a daily basis. Because I live in Tenerife &have no garage (the Stag is always left in the open)I have to put the top up at night to preventrubbish being thrown in the car, or Sahara Sand being deposited in it.
As the Sun shines virtually everyday I have no need of my (now stored) Hardtop, and nearly all my Stag motoring is done with the top down. As there are (I think) only 2 Stags on the Island there is no-one here who can supplyme with a new softop, and I don't want to drive the car all the wayto the U.K. & back again just to get a new top fitted. Has anyone ever fitted (or heard of) a replacement softop of a different design on their Stag thatwould survive constant daily use without parts of the frame always breaking or the hood fraying?.Ideally onewith an electric motor for ease of use - now that would be worth paying to have shipped over. Do you need a full softtop? why not fit a full length tonneau like this, much easier to put on/off than the hood

I looked out for you when staying in Los Cristianos recently, but no luck. I was in the Paradise Park Hotel. Weather was disappointing as I was only there for a week and it was cloudy for 3 days and overcast for 2 . Enjoyed it though. It was our first visit to Tenerife, and I guess we will be back. My in-laws are there now and enjoying great weather.

Excellent roads for Stags as far as we could tell. Nice and smooth unlike our pock-marked c**p . Petrol only the equivalent of 50p/litre too. Perfect.

[align=left]Hi, If you'd walked 100 yds up the Main Rd from Paradise Park you'd have seen my Stag parked in Castle Harbour Car Park. Sorry the weather wasn't good for you - we did have a glitch a week or so ago but it's back to Sunny skies again now. Did you get to "Summer Nites" just round the corner from Paradise Park - some Good acts on later on if you choose the right night - my wife & I go in quite a lot. If you visit Tenerife again let us know & I'll tell you all the best places to & see. (Send me an email or give us a call). We also have an Apartment that we Rent out inside Castle Harbour.

Hi, Thanks for your suggestion - I have to admit I'd never thought about a tonneau cover for the Stag (didn't know there was one) - I'll try out the Web Site you gave for more details. Back in the 70's I had 2 Spitfires (Mk3 & Mk4) & they had tonneau covers.
            Regards - Terry
