    looking for bit of advice

Hi .so I've owned my stag for 5 years its a good solid car with a lot of mechanical work done in my ownership .Its an older restoration say 20years and has held up well its not rotten or rusty just the paint has gone thin in places and cracked. Originally mimosa changed to carmine
So if I go for a respray would you go back to original or anything I want.
Also the car has 12 owners but the last 3 including me covers last 30 years . Will this affect the value greatly
I'm just debating what to do atm bcz respray will probably end up costing 7k ish.
What would you do. The good thing about the body is no rust has come through in this time .
    Cheers

Much of it will depend on how it was done before. Are there still yellow areas - under bonnet, inside boot, under carpets? Or was it done thoroughly? If the existing paint is cracking, then it will have to be removed to ensure a solid base for the new paint. Only the painter will be able to advise on that.

As for value, the multiple early ownership is irrelevant. 3 in the past 30 is more important, especially if there is good history of maintenance and repairs.

Colour is a personal thing. The Yellow Taliban on here will advise taking it back to the original colour. Those of us who like Carmine will say redo it as it is.

    Your car, your choice.

Same reply, its your car your choice , what's been done?
is your respray an engine and interior out job?
Stick with what you have, you must like it as you purchased it like that.

thx .there is lots of history with all mots .which is a good thing.
the paint job before . with regards to the inside under carpets it had new panels inc sills done to a very nice standard. but are new panel colour .bit of yellow in boot but thats it .engine bay was black anyway .I'm not fussed with under carpet .don't mind it black .but want to get engine out for respray. would black respray lower the value even more . then again not too fussed with value as not planning on selling it .

If not fussed on value/keeping it, do what you want with it!!

Go with what you like would be my main advice. If concerned about value, make sure you paint all the corners. It is a bit of a turn-off for many to find other colours under the boot-lid, inside the engine bay, under the carpets etc.

I prefer the engine bay painted the same colour as the rest off the car
