Firstly season's greetings one and all. I am about to start suspension upgrades as part of this winter's improvement project and I have a few decisions with which I would appreciate your feedback.
1. Can I match standard size Stag specific KYB shocks with 1 inch lower springs? Or do I need different, i.e. shorter, shocks? I don't see a 'shorter' KYB offered.
2. If I go for standard size springs, can anyone recommend a good quality source? I see quite a few 1 inch lower quality springs offered but am struggling to locate good standard ones. Plus I have heard of some inferior ones raising the car slightly above standard ride height.
As ever, your info is always appreciated. BTW, no need to run the whole debate of standard versus lowered as I'm pretty familiar with the pros and cons! I am also fitting Chris Witor sourced superflex polybushes throughout and may add 1/4 degree negative camber if sticking with standard springs (lowered springs would more-or-less achieve this). Plus four wheel alignment when all fitted. Broadly, I am in favour of keeping with the Stag as a GT car for decent speed cruising, but tightened up a bit, rather than a road-hugging but back-breaking sports car!
Thanks, Paul
