Carb oil seal o rings

I have been asked by another Stag as to what is the way to replace the o rings in the dampers. He asks as he feels he may have scratched one bore as it leaks oil over a few weeks. He feels the star washer scratched the inner
Can a score be repaired?

Wet and dry paper wrapped around a thin piece of dowel.

Where did he source the o-rings? I hear that some suppliers are selling the wrong size.
