    Fuel Filter Level?

    Hi Guys

Don't want to get paranoid but was checking things over on the car today and was looking at the level of fuel in the filter? with the enginerunning (electronic pump not SU) the level of fuel is about 5mm at the bottom of the filter? is this right or should the filter be full?

    Any advice gratefully received

Think theyare all the same, mine certainly is. I think I read somewhere that the only way to make them totally full would be to mount it vertical, not horizontal, to remove the air/vapour in the filter.

If it runs O.K. - stop the Stag paranoia.

      Hi Ian

Thanks for the info - makes me think if it would be better to mount the filter vertical as theonly part of the filter in the fuel is the lower parts so this must block quicker s only a small part of the filter actually soing any work?

This is an old chestnut, the level in the filter is irrelevant, if she's running OK there's not a problem. The trouble here is that you can see it, if it was black / metal you wouldn't even know. Relax Martin.
