Your stuff is well written and has a good story so there will definitely be someone somewhere who will learn from it-even if they just get the confidence to do something they think they can’t. Frankly if they don’t like the modified bit, that’s their problem - don’t make it yours

On a personal level I feel there’s a lot that doesn’t have to be in the mag each month. As a monthly contributor I try and keep the write up to the minimum. My members know what they did recently so no real need to put it in a write up but I have had quite a few new members who start coming along to meetings due to seeing what we’ve been up to. It’s a fine balance but reading as an example what Jack and Jill had for lunch in write ups is not needed.
Totally agree with Goldstar in that knowledge here and technical article for the mag would be excellent.

I would expect that regional coordinators would be more delighted than I if the whole section was reduced down to a diary of up coming events. Anything more interesting than, how much 1/2 pint of Mild costs at the snooker club miles from where I live and have no interest in visiting, could be written up in a full blown mag article.

I have no doubt that someone will be along shortly to defend their right to read every last word in every article.

Personally I think the mag has improved significantly in the last 12 months. Some interesting articles make all the difference and it needs members’ input for the content to be interesting.

I’m as guilty as the next man for assuming it is someone else’s job to provide articles but I bet our of the 400 odd regular contributors to this forum there must be 10 or so who could write 200 words with pictures on some topic or other relating to the car. Some of you have made YouTube videos, maybe an article using the video as a starting point? sujitroy richardthestag dasadrew paul jorgensen and Chix , you guys have all done interesting content either on YouTube or blogs or threads on here that would enhance the magazine brilliantly Hughesy how you did your efi conversion would be interesting reading.

Members’ Club for and by the members, just a thought.

Thanks Paul, I could knock something up about how easy Strombergs are to overhaul and setup

I am going to be trialling a fuel return setup on my stag which will be similar to the setup used on rover v8 stromberg setups in Land Rovers. I will do a write up on that. The bits are all easy to source and cheap to buy. No need to knock up a kit to sell at an enormous premium but I could be persuaded to if someone needed me to.

Thank you for posting that link. I have just gone back and re-read your post, with which I agree wholeheartedly. If the scattergun approach to advertising and events is intended to tempt members to read every page, it is not working IMO. Condensing these items, and placing them together would seem an easy way of reducing pages. Unless advertising rates have increased now that page size has doubled.

That would be a nice gesture, especially for Europe, as "Europe is in a bigger mess than UK". (not sure which continent UK is in nowadays ).

Yeah, seems the "European City of Culture" was the brand name for a European Commission programme. I guess those advocating Brexit would have known that anyway, so probably no surprise.

On the other hand, the Royal Mail considers Uzbekistan, Iceland and Greenland to be in Europe, so swings and roundabouts!

Remember the old signs at Heathrow? "UK and EU Passports only" - could have saved some ink on that one.
